We have conducted the Meterwavelength Single-pulse Polarimetric Emission Survey (MSPES) using the Giant Meterwave Radio Telescope to study
the single pulse behaviour in a large number of normal pulsars. The variation in the single pulses reveal a number of interesting phenomenon like nulling, mode changing, subpulse drifting, etc., which are closely related to the dynamics of the radio emission mechanism. In this talk I will describe our results from the MSPES survey, particularly the phenomenon of subpulse drifting. We have carried out detailed measurement of drifting features in these pulsars and have noticed interesting correlations between drifting and certain pulsar parameters. The subpulse drifting phenomenon has important implications on the dynamics of the plasma responsible for the radio emission as well as the nature of the Inner Acceleration Region in pulsars.
